Welcome to the Year of the Fire Horse!
This month we'll join billions of people across the globe in celebrating the Lunar New Year. As we shed the skin of the Year of the Snake, we look forward to the renewed sense of the energy that the fire horse brings.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our annual fundraiser for the Humane Animal Rescue! Our responsibility to care — for humans, for animals, for the earth — is a core value that we seek to foster, and we are grateful to you for your generosity in this pursuit. We'll continue to raise funds until our Lunar New Year celebration on February 14th when we'll announce the winners of our giveaway. As an added bonus, come to class between February 8 and 12 and you'll get another chance to win for each class you attend!
In the spirit of service to others, we are incredibly grateful to Senior Masters Steve and Lisa for the dedicated and compassionate leadership they've brought to the dojo and beyond. We're so proud to feature a new blog post by Senior Master Steve on his journey into teaching Rock Steady Boxing, a program designed to improve the quality of life of people living with Parkinson's Disease. And congratulations to Senior Master Lisa on her new role as Executive Director of the Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors. You each continue to inspire our community every day!
